ALAN IRVINE believes good news is just around the corner after a nightmare month at Hillsborough.

The Owls have not tasted victory in five games and have been served with a second winding up order by HM Revenue and Customs.

However, a Norwegian oilfield company, whose takeover bid is fronted by former Owls manager Chris Turner, are waiting in the wings to save the club from administration.

Manager Irvine said: “I don’t know the full story but I am told it is as close now as it has ever been. I have been told that the situation should be resolved for the benefit of the club. Hopefully, it will resolved pretty soon and it will be a positive step.”

The Owls visit Notts County, who were the last team to lose to Irvine’s men, a month ago in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

Irvine hopes striker Jermaine Johnson will be available for the first time this season after recovering from a knee injury.
