Lines leads way for Wath with double

Yorkshire: Leaders Dinnington eased one bonus point clear of rivals Ilkley as third-placed Doncaster Phoenix slipped up.

Dinnington ran in four tries on their way to a 24-5 victory at North Ribblesdale while Ilkley, after being 13-8 down early in the second half, were restricted to three tries but came back to win 20-13 at home to Old Brodleians.

Doncaster Phoenix, who had previously been level with both Dinnington and Ilkley on league points, were edged out 16-10 at home to 10th-placed Bridlington.

Phoenix went 10-0 up before Bridlington levelled the score at half time, and the visitors’ two penalties were the only score of the second half.

Wath pulled clear with a five-try bonus in their 29-6 home win over bottom club Acklam.

Second-row and captain Simon Lines led by example with two tries, and winger Steve Mason, No 8 Aaron Tasker and centre Martin Bray also touched down and Anthony Barrett kicked two conversions.

Selby came from behind for victory but were restricted to three tries in a 28-18 win at Scarborough.

Hullensians notched 11 tries in a 68-12 home win over Moortown to take over in Yorkshire Two.

Sheffield Medicals, 24-7 winners at bottom-placed Baildon, also moved ahead of previous leaders Yarnbury.
