Littlewood hits target for Heath

Leaders Wheatley Hills slipped up at Heath, letting a 7-6 lead at half-time slip to a 19-14 defeat.

Full-back Ben Littlewood kicked four penalties and converted a try by Giles Hetherington to take the win, while for Wheatley Gary Burns and Craig Barker scored tries, but it was not enough.

Flanker Steve Cowman scored Salem's try and Jonny Robinson kicked a conversion and penalty, but it was not enough.

Although the visitors scored the first and last tries of the game, Skipton took control in the middle stages of the match to score a surprise 20-14 home victory over third-placed Castleford.

Right winger John Dillon, centre Jonathan Richards and No 8 Matthew Speres were Skipton's try-scorers, setting up a tense final eight minutes after Castleford had replied.

Keighley drew level with both Castleford and Bradford Salem on league points following their 12-3 home win over Scarborough, and York kept on the pace with an18-10 home win over bottom-placed Yarnbury.

Bridlington, 26-6 winners in their derby match at Malton and Norton, moved ahead of Scarborough and level with Heath on both league points and scoring difference.

Tries from full-back Dan Porter, flanker Sam Weller, centre Nathan Spencer and No 8 Jack Tomlinson helped Selby to a 35-8 win over Dinnington. Christopher Quinn kicked three conversions and three penalties.
