London Scottish 38 Otley 22: Otley struggle to make an impact as Scottish prove too strong with blistering performance

WITH 12 consecutive wins behind them London Scottish were always going to be a stern test and so it proved, Otley finding themselves 26-3 down at half-time and facing a real challenge.

They were hit with a try from left winger Dave Howells after just three minutes but full-back Christian Georgiou quickly replied with a penalty.

The Exiles were full of running and on 11 minutes prop Craig McGrath forced his way over, ex Barking full-back Craig Radford adding the conversion.

Still trying to find their feet, Otley fell even further behind as they allowed centre Gary Trueman to slice through three minutes later, Radford again making no mistake as he ensured he converted.

At last beginning to settle, Otley did finally get their defence into some sort of order to calm the situation but the scoring was by no means finished.

Just before the break, right winger Charles Broughton was put away to secure the bonus try for London Scottish, Radford converting for an emphatic 26-3 lead at half-time.

Carrying their improved form into the second-half, Otley made ground when sniping scrum-half Stephen Depledge stooped over on 53 minutes, Georgiou converting.

Sadly, their score was matched moments later as Otley allowed No 7 Lewis Calder to cross and once again, Radford converted.

Still in the attacking mode, however, Otley made further inroads when fly-half Joe Barker went over but Scottish were also playing at full pace and Calder added a second try, Radford again converting

Striking again on 73 minutes through replacement James Kleinhorst, the try converted by centre Ben Hough, Otley had hopes of a bonus point but having No 8 Ollie Stedman in the bin proved to be a handicap.
