Hullensians scraped an 8-0 win over Huddersfield YMCA as they played their first competitive match for almost a month.

Winger Dave Andrews kicked the opening points with a penalty on 25 minutes, and, after a couple of missed penalty attempts, second-row Joe Sanders was credited with a last-minute pushover try which secured the win.

Hessle enjoyed a 24-7 home win over Barnsley.

Scrum-half Chris Watkins and centre Matt Donkin touched down in the first half as Hessle led 10-0 at the break.

After Barnsley had hit back with full-back Andrew Appleyard scoring a try which Patrick Jensen converted, Hessle full-back Chair Poucher converted his own try as well as a second from Chris Watkins.
