Blades boss Kevin Blackwell said: "We knew it would be tough playing in Cardiff with a patched-up side.

"Defeat tonight would have been very costly as far as our play-off hopes are concerned and now perhaps we can get a few players back fit as we are still in a position to fight for it.

"We worked hard for that point tonight and I know we have the right attitude so that should be recognised as it was a real achievement to get that point tonight.

"When you realise that I was forced to put on two unfit players from the bench you can understand why we are so delighted to have earned a point."

Owls boss Alan Irvine said: "I'm still going for three wins. Until we get them I won't relax. We have an awful lot to do still.

"It's a high pressure situation. Crystal Palace are below us but have a game in hand and have a superior goal difference, so that's another point.

"I am scared to death, it is really hard winning games in the Championship. It sounds better three from seven, but it is still very close. Too close for comfort.

"I'll be really surprised if there are not major issues to be resolved on the last day of the season.

"The game was absolute torture, we didn't play well enough in the first half.

"Credit to the players, we were better in the second half. It looked as if we turned a victory into a draw but luckily we got the winning goal."
