Crystal Palace's 1-0 win over Sheffield United means the Owls remain third from bottom.

Elsewhere in the Championship, 10-man Barnsley were demolished 6-1 at Newcastle after Luke Steele was red carded, while Doncaster Rovers romped to a 5-2 win at Bristol City.

Leeds United lost ground on League One leaders Norwich City after being held to a 1-1 draw at home to Brentford, while Huddersfield Town crashed 2-0 at Gillingham.

In the Yorkshire derby in League Two, a stoppage-time winner gave Bradford City a 2-1 win over Rotherham United.

York City lost 2-1 at Forest Green in the Blue Square Premier.

Bradley Orr equalised twice inside the first 15 minutes for City. Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Billy Sharp netted for Rovers. Sharp put Rovers back ahead on 34 minutes, before Emmanuel-Thomas made it 4-2 at the break. An Orr own goal made it 5-2 on 61 minutes.

Crystal Palace 1 Sheffield United 0 FT

Former Rotherham striker Alan Lee tapped in the winner after 23 minutes.

Newcastle United 6 Barnsley 1 FT

Peter Lovenkrands converted a penalty, which saw Tykes goalkeeper Luke Steele red carded just before the break. The former Rangers star added a second at the start of the second half before Danny Guthrie added a third. Further goals from Jonas Guiierrez, Guthrie and Kevin Nolan piled on misery for Reds. Bogdanovic grabbed a late consolation.

Sheffield Wednesday 2 Leicester City 0 FT

Leon Clarke opened the scoring after six minutes, before adding a second on the hour mark.

Simeon Jackson opened the scoring for the Gills. Nathan Ecclestone sent off for Town. Jackson doubled the hosts' advantage on 46 minutes.

Leeds United 1 Brentford 1 FT

Goalless at half-time at Elland Road, but Ben Strevens scored against the run of play on the hour mark. Jermaine Beckford equalised.

Rotherham United 1 Bradford City 2 FT

No goals in the Yorkshire derby at half-time at Don Valley Stadium. Michael Flynn broke stalemate on the hour mark. Adam Le Fondre grabbed a stoppage time equaliser from the penalty spot.

Daniel Powell opened the scoring on 22 minutes for home side. Levi Mackin equalised on 34 minutes, but Oliver Thorne (55) restored Forest Green's advantage.
