The Tigers crashed 4-1 to Burnley at the KC Stadium, and facing relegation to the Championship, but it is looking touch and go that Sheffield Wednesday will still be there to face them next season.

The Owls lost 1-0 at Middlesbrough and have just three games left to avoid relegation to League One.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Sheffield United beat Coventry, Barnsley and Derby was goalless and West Brom secured promotion back to the Premier League with a 3-2 win at Doncaster Rovers.

Leeds United won 2-0 against Swindon in League One to bolster their automatic promotion hopes, but Huddersfield slumped to a 3-0 loss at Brentford.

Rotherham United must improve or face sliding out of the League Two play-offs after defeat at Morecambe, Burton and Bradford drew 1-1, while York City crashed to a 3-1 defeat at Eastbourne in the Blue Square Premier.

Hull City are back in deep trouble. Kevin Kilbane (3) gave Tigers perfect start, but Clarets equalised via Martin Paterson (35). Alexander (64, 70) put Burnley ahead from the penalty spot. Wade Elliott nicked alate fourth for the visitors.

Deadlock at Oakwell as neither side could find a goal.

Doncaster Rovers 2 West Brom 3 FT

West Brom promoted back to Premier League. Graham Dorrans (31) opened the scoring for Baggies, before Chris Brunt (45) doubled their advantage. Jay Emmanuel-Thomas (47) pulled a goal back. Roman Bednar (73) made it 3-1, before James Hayter scored.

Scott McDonald (40) opened scoring at Riverside for Boro as Owls continue to slide towards relegation.

Richard Cresswell (47) broke the Bramall Lane deadlock.

Goalless at half-time, but Charlie MacDonald (71) scored from the penalty spot. Lewis Grabban doubled the hosts' advantage. MacDonald's second penalty made it 3-0.

First-half stalemate at Elland Road, but Max Gradel (60) found the net for the hosts. Luciano Becchio (83) doubled their advantage.
