Matterson hopes Tigers have learned their lesson as Hull bid to break into top four

Super league preview: CASTLEFORD coach Terry Matterson has reiterated his side's need for ultimate concentration against Hull FC tomorrow as they strive to quickly regain their recent improved form.

They were heading towards a third successive win at Harlequins last week until enduring a horrendous final 10 minutes in which they conceded four tries to lose 40-24.

Castleford remain outside the top eight and can ill-afford similar catastrophes if they are to press on.

Matterson admitted: "It's very important that we bounce back quickly and the guys are keen to respond. While Hull will be very tough opposition, the guys have it in them to win but we must be focused for the full 80."

England centre Michael Shenton makes his comeback at The Jungle following a four-game absence due to a hand injury, Australian prop Mitch Sargent also plays after missing the London trip through illness and scrum-half Kyle Wood is set for his Super League debut after joining on loan from Huddersfield following Brent Sherwin's unexpected move to Catalans.

However, former Bradford centre James Evans picked up a knock against Harlequins, joining Kirk Dixon and Paul Jackson on the sidelines.

Hull recorded a crucial victory at Catalans last week, coach Richard Agar rewarding that performance by naming the same 19-man squad as they attempt to break into the top four.

Hull defeat Castleford 42-22 at the KC Stadium in March but have lost five of their following nine Super League games and exited the Challenge Cup.

Huddersfield head to Warrington tomorrow insisting they can banish the memory of their 60-4 Challenge Cup embarrassment at the hands of Tony Smith's side.

It was only a fortnight ago when the error-prone Giants were destroyed at the Galpharm Stadium.

But, after a much-improved display against leaders Wigan in which they narrowly lost 38-30, assistant coach Paul Anderson believes they can force a swift turnaround in result.

"Sunday showed us that we can score some points against a team of that quality," he said. "We have the belief that we can score points against the big teams. We understand we have some issues defensively to sort out and that is what we have been doing this week. Warrington are fresh in our memory and we know that anything below our best could end up embarrassing for us."

Wakefield could complete a Super League double over Harlequins at Belle Vue with Kyle Bibb set to come in for Ben Gledhill.
