Morley run in 14 tries as Durham wilt

MORLEY boasted a double-figure haul of tries for the second successive week as they thrashed Durham City 94-7 in a rearranged home fixture.

The Maroons had run in 11 tries during an 80-5 win at Darlington and they increased that tally by three. There were hat-tricks from three players, among them centre Scott Hayes who got the ball rolling after five minutes.

Winger Karl Bradshaw was next to score, four minutes later, before lock Tom Hanson took the score to 21-0 on 12 minutes.

Morley added three more tries before half-time, including Hayes’s second and touchdowns by Will Smyth and Kobi Gyasi.

Replacement left winger Simon Bradshaw added to the tally two minutes into the third quarter.

Scrum-half Mark Cooke was next and siblings Karl and Simon Bradshaw followed. Cooke’s second came before Hayes could complete his hat-trick but Cooke had his third only minutes later, leaving Simon Bradshaw to end the agony for the visitors.
