Norwich City v Barnsley: Carrow Road return for boss Robins

Championship: FORMER Norwich City striker Mark Robins returns to his old stomping ground for the first time as a manager today with Barnsley.

Robins, 40, spent three years at Carrow Road in the early Nineties during which the Canaries finished third in the Premier League and beat Bayern Munich in the UEFA Cup.

"I have some great memories, and scored two goals on my debut against Arsenal, but that's all in the past now," he said.

Barnsley captain Jason Shackell is another former Canary and played his last game in 2009 when the club was relegated from the Championship.

Both clubs have seven points from the first four games of the new season and Barnsley will be seeking a third consecutive win ahead of Tuesday night's Yorkshire derby with Leeds United at Oakwell.

"This is a great week for us," said Robins. "Norwich, Leeds, and then Derby County next Saturday."
