A fifth try in the dying seconds saw Sheffield Tigers to a 38-10 victory over Cleckheaton on a fogbound Dore Moor.

Tigers took an early lead with tries by winger Dan Kelly and full-back Peter Swatkins, both converted by Tom Outram, before last season’s North One East champions replied with a try by captain and No 8 Richard Piper, converted by Ross Hayden.

Tigers went further ahead with a try by Stefan Destounis before Cleckheaton pulled back a penalty by Hayden right on half-time.

Tigers prop Will Bennett crashed over and Outram converted. Winger Henri Packard raced over for the fourth try, and also finished when Tigers broke from their own line to seal the win.
