Nick Lewis signs on for another year with BBL club Sheffield Sharks

Sheffield Sharks have continued their policy of recruiting veterans for the forthcoming season with the news that Nick Lewis is to return to the club for the 2020-21 campaign.

The 27-year-old guard will suit up for the Sharks for a fifth season in total, and second in succession, having rejoined the club in 2019.

The Canadian native had previously played for the club from 2012 to 2015, helping them win the BBL Trophy in 2013.

Lewis said: “We all felt like last season was robbed from us due to the virus, so I’m looking forward to coming back and building off of last season. Silverware is always the goal.”

Sharks head coach Atiba Lyons – who has prioritised bringing back veterans like Mike Tuck and Mackey MacKnight over fresh recruits – said: “Nick’s the type of guy that plays with a chip on his shoulder and can bring it on both ends of the floor. His outside shooting but also his pace, stability, and decision-making over the last season was impressive. The continuity of the team, so far, will really help us hit the ground running once the season starts.”
