The Nissan e.dams driver currently sits in joint sixth place in the electric car series following fourth, fifth and seventh-placed finishes so far this season but the Yorkshireman believes his best form is yet to come.

“I've been there or thereabouts this season in terms of pace,” said Rowland. “I haven't always perfected the weekends but I'm joint sixth in the championship, I've scored 28 points which is a decent start but I think the key ingredients are there for me to put together a serious title assault throughout the season.”

Rowland has experience of the Marrakesh circuit and feels the nature of the track will make for exciting racing.

“It's a good circuit,” he added. “It's a bit of a hybrid between a Formula E circuit and a normal street circuit but it's a very good, high energy saving race.

“In qualification we reach reach quite high top speeds with quite a lot of breaking efficiency.

“The weather's nice so it makes for a good race.”

Tomorrow's race will be screened live on BBC2 at 1.30pm and Rowland believes the added exposure can do nothing but good for the future of the series.

“Anything live on the BBC is great exposure and there will be lots of my family and friends watching at home, so it's really good for Formula E and everyone involved,” said Rowland.

“If you watch any Formula E race they are all exciting, they are very unpredictable and interesting to watch so if you like motor sport or even if you don't, it's great to watch. If you're from Yorkshire I'm here for you to support as well!”
