Palypso De Creek out to make a point at Holderness

PROLIFIC winner Palypso De Creek features among 84 entries for this Sunday’s Holderness Hunt Point-to-Point meeting at Dalton Park.

As part of a seven-race card which begins at 1.30pm, Palypso De Creek is among a high-quality field entered for the ladies’ race, with course specialist Narciso among them.

King Penda, a dual winner this season, also features in the entries but he will have to lower the colours of Palypso De Creek who has already won a hunter chase and three point-to-points this season, including a match at the Brocklesby meeting on Saturday.

Sunday’s card will get
underway with the Hunt race in which Moment of Madness will be a leading contender for Huntsman and Master Charles Clark.

Yet to ride this season due to his commitments to the hunting field, Charles’s Artic Pride has already won twice this season from two starts under Jacqueline Coward.

The second race is the Confined in which recent West of Yore scorer Candleford will be seeking glory, with Ferdy Murphy’s consistent Hennessy among the notable opposition.

Then comes the men’s open – one of 15 races in the new Bonhams-sponsored series where those placed first, second or third will qualify for the final which will be run at the Cheltenham Hunter Chase evening on the first day in May.

Dropped in class, Tom Bannister’s Classinaglass is a likely contender alongside West of Yore runner-up Sous Mix.

Following the ladies’ race, 10 entries have been received for
the restricted race with West of Yore victor Tippering and Dead Ringa likely contenders – the latter having been twice in two other restricted races already this term.

Port Golan and Leedfka also look like being key players.

Racing then finishes with two open maiden races.

Admission is £35 in the reserved car park, £30 in the non-reserved car park and £10 for single occupancy.
