Payette looks for Steeldogs to bounce back on home ice

SHEFFIELD Steeldogs’ player-coach Andre Payette is looking for his young team to bounce back quickly to boost their EPL play-off hopes.

Despite road defeats to Basingstoke Bison and Guildford Flames at the weekend, the Steeldogs remain relatively safe in the eighth and final play-off spot with 10 games remaining, seven points clear of Telford Tigers.

This week sees the South Yorkshire club enjoy a home double-header, first being handed a swift opportunity to gain revenge for their 5-1 defeat at Guildford when the Flames visit Ice Sheffield on Saturday (7.30pm).

The Steeldogs will then welcome seventh-placed Swindon Wildcats on Sunday (5.30pm), with the Wiltshire side four points ahead of them in the standings.

“We want to take some points from the Swindon game, nothing less is acceptable’,” said Payette. “Swindon is a massive game for us to try and close the gap in order to keep seventh place in our sights.”

The Steeldogs are offering a special price for the two home games. If supporters buy tickets to both games, they will get Sunday’s at half price.

A single game ticket costs: Adult £8.00, Concession £6.00, Child £3.00 (Under-8’s FREE), Family £18.00.
