Players Championship: Sheffield's Danny Willett withdraws from tournament sighting back injury
2016 Masters champion Danny Willett has withdrawn from the Players Championship at Sawgrass, saying his "body and mind need a rest".
Willett had carded a seven-over par 79 in round one on Thursday but withdraw ahead of Friday's second round.
The 29-year-old, from Sheffield, said: "Not good to have to withdraw but swinging very poorly is putting a lot of unwanted strain on the back.. body and mind need a rest!!"
