Plymouth Argyle v Huddersfield Town: New delivery has Pilkington back on track

League one: BECOMING a new father has had a rejuvenating effect on Huddersfield's Anthony Pilkington, who has rediscovered the form which brought him to the attention of Premier League Everton earlier in his career.

Town beat off competition from several Championship clubs to sign Pilkington, 22, on a three-and-a-half-year contract from Stockport in January last year and the 500,000 signing from Stockport County has scored four goals in three games since becoming a proud dad.

Manager Lee Clark, who withdrew the right flank player as a precaution to protect a sore hamstring/buttock during the 2-0 win over Southampton, said: "What he's doing now is what I knew was within him when we signed him. He was having a bit of a quiet period but since the birth he has been sensationsional. He is a player who can play at the highest level."

Season-long loan signing Damien Johnson is ineligible to play against his parent club today.
