QHotels latest course investment includes £500,000 spend on greenkeeping equipment

QHOTELS, the group which owns Oulton Hall near Leeds and a number of golf resorts across the UK, have announced an investment of an additional £700,000 across its 10 flagship properties, most to be spent on course maintenance.

The spend will see a £500,000 purchase of a new fleet of greenkeeping equipment to ensure the group’s 15 courses are maintained to the highest order through the year to cater for growing demand.

There will be major renovation of the 18th hole at Forest Pines Hotels & Golf Resort in north Lincolnshire, a course popular with Yorkshire golfers, new drainage at Dunston Hall in Norwich, the upgrading of the driving range at Belton Woods in Grantham, including the installation of the latest FlightScope launch monitor technology.

John Angus, group director of golf for QHotels, said: “As the UK’s largest golf resort operator, it is imperative that we continue to invest on a regular basis to keep our golf courses and facilities at the high standard that our members and visitors have come to expect.”

The new spend follows the £2.2m allocated to improving Wi-Fi access and bandwidth across its hotels while the health and leisure club facilities at Dunston Hall and Forest Pines both underwent six-figure refurbishments last year.

Earlier this year it was announced that Oulton Hall is to see a £1m refurbishment.

As well as upgrading the furniture, décor and furnishings in its bedrooms, the

renovation work will also include installing bedside USB charging points in bedrooms and new safes specifically designed for laptops and a laptop drawer

with lighting for easy access and use.

Claire Steven, general manager of Oulton Hall, said: “The refurbishment will

benefit all the different types of guests we welcome, from hotel, golf and spa leisure guests to business travellers and those attending conferences and events.”
