Quinn has plenty of options for the Ebor after good impressions made at Galway
Talented dual purpose performer Pearl Castle ran an excellent race to finish sixth in the fiercely competitive Galway Hurdle and is set to revert to the Flat on the Knavesmire, the scene of his victory in the Queen Mother’s Cup in June. Swnymor, a relatively new addition to trainer John Quinn’s team having joined from Rebecca Curtis’s yard earlier this season, made a winning debut for his handler at Chester before finishing fifth in Galway’s Connacht Hotel Handicap.
“Pearl Castle is a very nice horse and finished sixth in the Galway Hurdle the other day. He ran a good race,” said Malton-based Quinn.
“He’s won at York and he’s quite a smart horse.

Hide AdQuinn also plans to run his Silver Cup third Great Hall in the Ebor, but his fourth and final entry in the prestigious handicap, Tahira, is set to embark on a jumping career instead.
“We bought him (Great Hall) in the spring, he’s a nice horse and he ran really well on his first run for us at York,” said Quinn,
“He needs decent ground.
“The Ebor is his main aim this year.
“I think he’s a nice staying horse.”
