Ramsbottom feels so much at home

CYCLING: Scunthorpe time trial ace Julian Ramsbottom put his local knowledge to good effect when he won the Scunthorpe Road Club 10-mile time trial at Kirton in Lindsey, North Lincolnshire on Saturday.

The I Ride Racing Team rider clocked 21min 21secs to win the event by 13 secs despite a north easterly wind blowing as the riders tackled the A15 from Kirton up to the M180 interchange and back.

Ramsbottom beat Witham Wheelers’ James Coleman into second, Scunthorpe Polytechnic CC’s Anthony Nash taking third, another 21 seconds off the pace
