We’re inviting readers to take part in our Go the Mile challenge, where you can hop on our static Yorkshire Post bike and try to post the fastest time of the day.

Visitors who buy a YP on the day will get a free goodie bag and be entered into a prize draw to win a bike in July, while a prize will go to the fastest riders.

Nicola Furbisher, managing editor of The YP, said: “We want Yorkshire to get cycling, so we’ve come up with this fun challenge that everyone can get involved in. Keep an eye out for the YP bike and Go the Mile with us.”

The Go the Mile bike, which will tour events including the Harrogate Spring Flower Show and the Otley Show, will launch at Ilkley Cycles, in Ilkley, tomorrow from 10am to 4pm.

Adam Evans, of Go the Mile partners Ilkley Cycles, added: “See what you can achieve, you might have the legs of the next Bradley Wiggins.”

Tour de France fever is already blossoming in Yorkshire, with residents and businesses getting behind the iconic race’s visit.

In preparation for the July stages, The Donkey Sanctuary, in Eccup, near Leeds, is offering 60 camping pitches yards from a field of grazing donkeys. It will fund riding therapy for children.
