Return to Hull proves big hit

SHOW-JUMPING returned to Hull city centre last weekend with a very successful day in the city's East Park.

"Many people remembered the show when it was at its peak in the 70s and they were thrilled to see it back in the park," said area secretary Sharon Cawood.

British Show Jumping's area representative, Michael Bainbridge, of the Port Royal Equestrian Centre, was instrumental in staging the event and said he wanted to share the fun of show-jumping with people who may not have the chance to see it before.

SEVENTY-five riders and nearly 30 helpers turned out for a pleasure ride which was held at Broughton Hall near Skipton on Sunday.

The weather was perfect and riders enjoyed the opportunity to hack over land not normally accessible to the public.

The ride raised over 1,400 which will go to Yorkshire and Cleveland Riding for the Disabled and Trawden and District Bridleways.

TWO pleasure rides are coming up in the Wakefield and Doncaster areas.
