Rhinos now hit with Buderus blow

LEEDS Rhinos will be without hooker Danny Buderus for their Engage Super League semi-final on Saturday week because of suspension.

The former Newcastle Knights and Australia player was given a one-match ban for a "spear" tackle on Paul Prescott in Sunday's play-off win over Wigan at the DW Stadium.

Buderus, who has missed only four of his side's 34 matches this season, was put on report for the challenge and was found guilty of a grade A offence when he appeared before the Rugby Football League's disciplinary committee this evening.

Leeds' 27-26 victory over the League leaders has come at a heavy price, with stand-off Danny McGuire picking up a season-ending knee injury in the same match.
