BARNSLEY have turned to the online auction website ebay in an attempt to raise extra funds for the Oakwell kitty.

First-team shirts no longer required following a clear-out of players by manager Mark Robins have been put up for sale instead of going to waste.

Officials say the proceeds, which are likely to be in the region of 1,000, will be ploughed back into the commercial department.

Among the items up for sale are shirts worn by striker Kayode Odejayi, one of the heroes of the club’s FA Cup campaign two seasons ago, Slovenian international Suad Filekovic, and winger Julian Gray, who now plays for Walsall. There are also shirts autographed by the full Barnsley squad and shirts worn by current favourite Daniel Bogdanovic.

The Tykes visit Cardiff after a run of three consecutive defeats. Manager Robins said: “It’s not a time to panic, we’re just having an unlucky spell.”
