Rotherham United v Hereford United: Four wins can earn Millers play-off spot

NEW Rotherham United manager Andy Scott has set a target of four wins from the last five games to qualify for the League Two play-offs.

Scott, who was appointed by chairman Tony Stewart this week, takes charge for the first time this afternoon against Hereford United.

“There are 15 points to play for and if we get them, we finish in the play-offs,” he said. “Historically, an average of 72 points puts you in the play-offs. That’s four more wins. So we can still do it.”

The former Sheffield United striker, 38, led Brenford to the League Two title two seasons ago but was surprisingly sacked in February.

He has signed a three-year deal with the Millers and will be assisted by the club’s existing coaching staff – Andy Liddell, Paul Warne and Nicky Eaden – at this stage.

Striker Tom Pope, meanwhile, will be involved after being released on bail by police investigating an alleged brawl in a Stafford nightclub.
