Rotherham v Shrewsbury Town: Coid is still on Moore’s wanted list

League Two: ROTHERHAM United manager Ronnie Moore is refusing to give up the chase for Blackpool defender Danny Coid.

Moore is keen to re-sign the fullback who impressed on loan earlier this season but Blackpool are keen for the player to sign a three-month deal.

“We have spoken to Blackpool but they would rather Danny go somewhere for three months rather than a month,” said Moore. “We have left things in the hands of his agent to see if he can sort something out but Danny is desperate to come here.”

Moore is awaiting news on the groin injury which kept striker Ryan Taylor out of the midweek victory over Accrington Stanley but has striker Liam Henderson available as cover following his loan move from Watford.

Henderson, 21, made his Millers debut in midweek and Moore said: “Liam is still very raw but he puts the other team under an awful lot of pressure. The deal was only done on Tuesday lunchtime and he met the rest of the lads for the first time in the dressing room at 6pm before the game. Despite that, he made two goals and I don’t think we would have won without him.”

The Millers host Shrewsbury Town today in a top-of-the-table game at the Don Valley Stadium.

Having notched a third consecutive home victory on Tuesday night, the Millers climbed back into the top three and are just one point behind the second-placed Shrews whose side includes former Millers defender Ian Sharps.
