Barrow Raiders 62 Hunslet Warriors 10: Hunslet show spirit but fall to Barrow

AMATEURS Hunslet Warriors gave a fine account of themselves despite falling to an 11-try defeat to Championship Grand Final winners Barrow Raiders.

The Yorkshire Premier Division took a surprise lead through Gary McClelland and Scott Walker had a 'try' disallowed.

This early scare sparked Barrow into life. A spell of 22 points in 10 minutes killed the game off as Liam Campbell, Andy Ballard, Andy Henderson and Ned Catic all crossed.

Chris Larkin and Martin Ostler added scores before half-time, but after the break it was again the visitors who struck first.

Chris Peach's kick bounced kindly into the hands of Karl Featherstone, the substitute forward having an easy task to ground the ball.

Barrow dominated the remainder of the fixture, Brett McDermott, Nathan Mossop (twice), Ballard and Catic all crossing.

Barrow: Broadbent, Larkin, Catic, Harrison, Ballard, Campbell, Rooney, Bracek, Henderson, R. Roberts, Fletcher, Knowles, Luisi. Substitutes: Butler, Ostler, McDermott, Mossop.
