Bradford Bulls' Sykes faces three-match ban

BRADFORD half-back Paul Sykes is facing the threat of a ban of up to three matches after being accused of making a dangerous tackle.

Sykes, an ever-present for the Bulls in Engage Super League this year, will appear in front of the Rugby Football League's disciplinary committee tomorrow charged with a grade C dangerous throw on Harlequins forward Oliver Wilkes during his side's 35-18 defeat in London on Friday.

Huddersfield forward David Faiumu has also been summoned to appear in front of the panel after being charged with a grade A tackle that placed undue pressure on the shoulder joint of Crusaders winger Nick Youngquest during his side's 30-12 win over the Welsh club yesterday.

Salford prop Ryan Boyle will appear before the committee following his dismissal for a grade B high tackle on prop Stuart Fielden during the Reds' 60-10 defeat at Wigan.

Faiumu and Sykes were charged on video evidence following a meeting of the RFL's match review panel, which issued a formal caution to Crusaders forward Weller Hauraki for an off-the-ball tackle on Huddersfield winger Jermaine McGillvary.
