Hull KR are mourning the loss of legendary Johnny Moore, the former centre who played 430 games for the East Yorkshire club and was assistant to Roger Millward when they famously defeated Hull in the 1980 Challenge Cup final.

Moore, who died at the age of 71 from a rare heart condition, also captained the Robins to the 1967 Yorkshire Cup success over their fierce rivals.

Ex-Castleford player Fred Ward has also died.

Born in the town, he made 152 appearances and scored 37 tries for them between 1952-1958.

He later transferred to Leeds and went on to play for York and Keighley before coaching Hunslet, whom he took to Wembley in the 1965 Challenge Cup final against Wigan.

The Rugby Football League has apologised for an error in the 2013 Magic Weekend schedule published yesterday.

Castleford Tigers will, in fact, tackle Wakefield Wildcats on Saturday, May 25, kick-off 2.15pm – not Sunday.

Instead, Bradford Bulls face Huddersfield Giants on Sunday, May 26, kick-off 5.15pm.

Catalans Dragons take on London Broncos on Saturday at 12pm while Salford City Reds play Widnes Vikings on Sunday at 3pm.
