Briscoe back in the fold for England

England have recalled Wigan full-back Sam Tomkins and Hull winger Tom Briscoe for Saturday’s international against France at Craven Park, Hull.

Tomkins missed England’s opening 80-12 win over Wales in Wrexham on Saturday with a knee injury, but has been included by coach Steve McNamara in a 19-man squad and looks set to win back the full-back spot from Zak Hardaker.

Briscoe, who was a regular in England’s 2011 Four Nations campaign, is also set to return, while Warrington forward Ben Harrison is the likely replacement for Wigan loose-forward Sean O’Loughlin, who has been ruled out with a hamstring strain.

The trio are added to the other 16 players from the team that thrashed the Welsh to book their place in the final on Sunday week.
