Bulls recruit well on and 
off the pitch

Having been relegated fully eight weeks ago, he has had plenty of time to start preparing for life in the Championship.

Lowes has recruited 14 new players and retained the bulk of his current squad but, clearly, off the field is just as important too.

With that in mind, retiring club captain Matt Diskin has been appointed as the club’s Under-19s coach while former Featherstone head coach John Bastian moves to Odsal as head of youth and Bradford have also recruited England’s strength and conditioning coach Gary Dempsey.

“I am really pleased to have John, Matt and Gary on board,” said Lowes.

“To attract someone of John’s calibre to the club is fantastic for Bradford Bulls and I feel sure he’ll prove his worth over the coming weeks and months.

“In terms of Matt, I am really pleased to see him staying with the club in a coaching capacity.

“He boasts a fantastic knowledge of the game and will be working hard with all of the players – first team included.

“The Under-19s are massive for the future of the club, as is our entire Academy system, so to have John and Matt at the helm is fantastic.”

Meanwhile, fellow relegated club London Broncos have been similarly busy ahead of today’s final day meeting between the sides.

Coach Joe Grima yesterday made two notable signings from Warrington Wolves for 2015.

Hooker Brad Dwyer, 21, joins on a season-long loan having spent time at Huddersfield Giants last year while prop Glenn Riley, 21, has signed a 12-month contract following his release by Warrington.
