Challenge Cup Final: Jordan Abdull misses out of Hull FC's Wembley squad

THERE were no real surprises in either camp as the Challenge Cup finalists named their 19-man squads for Wembley.

Hull FC made just one change with captain Gareth Ellis back in after being rested versus Catalans Dragons last week, Jordan Abdull making way.

Half-back Abdull, 20, delivered a fine display in the recent 38-0 win at Widnes, was on the bench against the French side and he has played in five of the last six games.

However, he was always likely to miss out when everyone was fit as is the case now for the East Yorkshire club.

Head coach Lee Radford included Sika Manu and Liam Watts, the forwards omitted against Catalans to give them some well-earned time-off before Saturday’s appointment with Warrington Wolves.

It would seem Hull will run as expected with the two from Josh Bowden, Jordan Thompson and Dean Hadley set to miss out unless there are any late dramas in the next 48 hours.

Warrington, meanwhile, named an unchanged 19-man squad to the one selected for last Saturday’s 14-11 win over Castleford Tigers.

That means they included former Hull loose-forward Joe Westerman.

The England international injured an ankle in that late victory over one of his former clubs and coach Tony Smith said on Monday he was their only doubt for Wembley.

Westerman, 26, is expected to play but, if he does not pull through tomorrow’s final training session, Kevin Penny and Sam Wilde are the ones waiting in the wings.

Hull FC (19-man squad): Shaul, Michaels, Fonua, Yeaman, Talanoa, Tuimavave, Sneyd, Watts, Houghton, Taylor, Manu, Minichiello, Ellis, Green, Washbrook, Pritchard, Bowden, Thompson, Hadley.

Warrington Wolves (19-man squad): Atkins, Bailey, Clark, Currie, Dwyer, R Evans, Gidley, Hill, Hughes, G King, T King, Penny, Ratchford, Russell, Sandow, Sims, Westerman, Westwood, Wilde.
