Championship round-up: Victory for Bradford Bulls, Sheffield Eagles, Dewsbury Rams and Batley Bulldogs

Yorkshire's four clubs competing for the Championship Shield enjoyed a clean sweep of victories yesterday.

It was a welcome win for bottom club Bradford Bulls, who beat Oldham 20-16.

Josh Rickett, Scott Moore, James Bentley and Cory Aston crossed for tries, Smith and Aston adding goals.

Sheffield Eagles, in third spot, continued their fine form against Swinton Lions, edging the hosts out 32-30.

Two tries apiece for Ben Blackmore and Paddy Flynn helped Sheffield to victory, Menzie Yere and Elliot Minchella also crossing.

Second-placed Batley Bulldogs were 32-24 winners at Rochdale Hornets, Dave Scott chipping in with a brace of tries.

Alex Bretherton (2), Shaun Ainscough and Jason Crookes also crossed, Pat Walker booting four goals.

Dewsbury Rams caused one of the shocks of the weekend, beating leaders Toulouse 36-34.

Rams’ tries came from Jode Sheriffe, James Glover, Mickael Goudemand, Dom Speakman, Robbie Ward and Toby Adamson. Paul Sykes (5) and Glover added goals.
