Desire to hit back gives boost to Morgan

CONFIDENT Hull KR coach Justin Morgan believes his side are ready to end their winless Super League run at Headingley.

Rovers have so far failed to triumph at the home of champions Leeds Rhinos and the manner of last week's dismal second-half capitulation against Wakefield suggests that record is in no danger of being broken.

But Morgan insists his squad – who shipped 21 unanswered points after the interval to lose 31-18 at home to Trinity – have responded positively and are ready for an immediate turnaround tomorrow night.

"If with 15 minutes to go we're in the ascendancy then I'm confident that our desire to win the game will be there for us to win it," he said, having resisted making sweeping changes, former Rhinos Academy stand-off Chaz I'Anson returning from an ankle injury the only expected alteration.

"I've seen a team that has gelled well this week in their desire to train and practice hard; you will see a determined team because of it but we have to put ourselves in the driving seat."

Leeds could hand a debut to Michael Coady, the 22-year-old centre who signed from Doncaster last year.

He has been called into their squad following the injury to Kallum Watkins and is vying with apprentice plumber Tom Bush for the vacant wing berth. Captain Kevin Sinfield is also included after recovering from a dead leg.

Catalans Dragons, with just one win so far, have seen their problems escalate after Australian stand-off Adam Mogg asked to be released from his contract which runs until the end of 2011.

With full-back Clint Greenshields ruled out with a broken leg, Mogg has become homesick and wants to return to his old club Canberra.

Halifax aim to take command at the top of the Championship this evening when they head to Widnes Vikings.

Both boast 100 per cent starts – Halifax have defeated fellow challengers Sheffield Eagles and emerged victorious at Batley – but if last season's Grand Final runners-up win the televised encounter they will edge clear.

"It's two games now that we've won that we didn't last year," said coach Matt Calland.
