Anthony Thackeray scored a brace as Dewsbury Rams returned to winning ways with a comfortable 48-6 victory over Swinton Lions in the Kingstone Press Championship at the Tetley’s Stadium on Friday night.
Shane Grady crossed over early on for the home side, with Tom Hemingway converting, before Zach Johnson hit back with a try for the visitors 10 minutes later, Mick Nanyn scoring the Lions goal.
But the home side went ahead for the second time with a try apiece from Thackeray and Karl Pryce as Kieran Hyde added the extras to hand Dewsbury an 18-6 lead at the break.
The Rams ran riot in the second half with a second try from a Thackeray, while Ryan Wright, Dale Morton, Austin Buchanan and Kyle Briggs also crossed.
Hyde and Hemingway converted two further goals each with no reply from Swinton.
