Doncaster 26 Oldham 46: Bad spell costs Doncaster dear

IMPROVING Doncaster faded in the second half after giving unbeaten Oldham a fright.

Oldham struck first when prop forward Jason Boults rounded off a strong spell of pressure in the seventh minute. Doncaster hit back with a well-worked try from Scott Wilson after 14 minutes but Matty Ashe soon restored Oldham's advantage.

Full-back Tommy Griffiths raced through to touch down after 34 minutes before team-mate Simon Brown put the home side in front with a penalty soon after. But poor defence and individual errors led to Oldham scoring five tries in 18 minutes after the break through Joe Chandler, Mick Foggerty, Chris Clarke, John Gillam and Ben Eaton for a 40-14 lead.

Jack Ely and Dean Colton scored tries for Doncaster but Oldham ended with a stoppage-time try from Dave Ellison.
