Dowes and Walker on their way to Bulls

BRADFORD BULLS are understood to have signed Hull FC prop Ewan Dowes for 2011.

The former England front-row has spent the last eight seasons at the KC Stadium but was only offered a reduced contract by the East Yorkshire club.

Dowes, 30, will soon be announced as one of incoming Bulls coach Mick Potter's first captures at Odsal along with Hull KR's Chev Walker, who rejected a deal with city rivals Hull to make the same switch.

Similarly, Castleford's trip to St Helens has also been switched to the same day at 6.45pm.

Salford's teenage hooker Gareth Owen has been cleared by the RFL disciplinary panel of making dangerous contact to the neck and back of Huddersfield's Kevin Brown and will be free to play in his side's final game against Wakefield the following afternoon.

Warrington coach Tony Smith has all but ruled out the possibility of a shock comeback for Chris Bridge in this weekend's Challenge Cup final.

Smith had suggested Bridge could be available to face Leeds on Saturday after making a quicker-than-expected recovery from a shoulder injury but is more likely to have a run-out in tonight's Carnegie Floodlit 9s.
