Featherstone coach Hay is still wary of struggling Doncaster

The South Yorkshire club arrive at Big Fella’s Stadium on a staggering 21 game losing run that dates back to last August.

However, ex-Batley Bulldogs boss Gary Thornton has recently taken over at the Championship strugglers and Hay will not let his players be lax.

“It’s a quick turnaround for both sides from the weekend but we’ve prepared to face a very strong and skilful Doncaster team,” he said, Rovers having thrashed second-bottom Whitehaven Town 52-0 in Cumbria on Sunday.

“They’ve got a new coach in place who has been there a few a weeks now and will be trying to implement some of his ideas to the team and there is also the link up with Hull FC which may strengthen their squad.

“However, it’s important that we concentrate on keeping up our momentum from last week, train hard and play hard and the rewards will come.

“It’s one of those games people will be expecting us to win and for that reason we need as many supporters as possible getting behind the boys.”

Fifth-placed Featherstone need only a point tonight game to usurp Halifax from fourth as the final run-in of the campaign fast approaches while Doncaster give a debut to loanee Ben Musolino from Sheffield Eagles.
