Rovers had lost on their previous four trips to Blackpool, but produced a superb performance to thrash York and strengthen their ambitions of a top-five finish.

Half-back Dane Chisholm was in top form, scoring a try and setting up several more and the result means Featherstone have now won four of their last five Championship games as they closed the gap on the Knights to two points.

Rovers led 14-0 at the interval, but the first half was a much tighter affair than the scoreline suggested.

Chisholm opened the scoring after intercepting and racing the length of the field on 21 minutes. Tries from Conor Carey and Luke Briscoe in the final three minutes of the half gave Rovers some much-needed breathing space.

The second half was a different story, with Featherstone crossing for five unanswered tries in a dominant 30-minute spell.

Carey grabbed his second on 51 minutes before Chisholm put Brad Day over three minutes later. Chisholm assisted again soon after as he provided the pass for Alex Sutcliffe to score.

Josh Hardcastle and Tom Holmes put further daylight between the sides with two tries. York produced a late rally, with Perry Whiteley and Joe Porter crossing.
