Featherstone set to honour famous trio

Half-back Carl Dooler, who won the Lance Todd Trophy in Rovers' 1967 Challenge Cup final victory over Barrow, ex-Great Britain forward David Hobbs and scrum-half Deryck Fox will be honoured at Post Office Road on October 9.

Sharlston-born Dooler spent 10 years with Featherstone before joining Hull KR in 1969 while Hobbs was a fellow Lance Todd Trophy winner after his man-of-the-match display in the 1983 Wembley success over Hull.

He later took charge of Rovers, laying the groundwork for current coach Daryl Powell.

Fox forged a memorable partnership with Graham Steadman in the late 1980s, the traditional-style No 7 earning international honours with his stellar kicking abilities and becoming the fulcrum of the Rovers side during two spells with the club.

The trio have been at the heart of some of Featherstone's finest moments and a number of special guests will be in attendance to celebrate their achievement including coach of the 1983 side Allan Agar and Peter Fox, who led Featherstone to Wembley in 1973 and 1974. KEIGHLEY COUGARS are inviting offers for ex-Salford centre Daley Williams following an internal disciplinary.

Coach Barry Eaton said: "I have been disappointed with Daley's attitudes in terms of preparation for matches over recent weeks, especially during the period of our most important phase of the season.

"We are willing to listen to any offers before the transfer deadline for Daley regarding the remainder of the 2010 season."
