Fleming is hoping to kick-start his career at Bradford

The Wales international, 22, becomes the club’s first signing since their relegation to the Championship was confirmed.

Fleming has been restricted to just five substitute appearances with high-flying Castleford this season, the last of which came in the Challenge Cup win at Batley in early April.

He played for York City Knights on dual-registration later that month, but was then ruled out of the campaign with a season-ending back injury.

With stellar prop Andy Lynch in vintage form, mid-season arrival Lee Jewitt newly-signed for next term, ex-England prop Garreth Carvell hoping to do likewise and Ryan Boyle set to return from a serious knee injury in 2015, Castleford are already well-served for front-rows.

Fleming, who spent 11 games on dual-registration with Batley in 2013, is, therefore, looking to kick-start his career at Odsal.

“This is a massive opportunity and I can’t wait to get started,” he said, having signed for two years.

“I have enjoyed my time with Castleford but am really excited about the prospect of playing for the Bulls, in what will be a really challenging season in 2015.

“I am up for helping Bradford get back to where they belong and that will all start in pre-season, which I am sure will come around quick.

“I’m looking forward to working under James Lowes and thank him and the club for the chance they have provided me.”

Head coach Lowes added: “Dan is a talented young forward, with bags of potential, and we are delighted to have him on board.

“I believe he can have a good future here at the Bulls; he certainly has all of the necessary attributes to go far.

“He has had experience as an international and in the Super League and Championship, which will prove very beneficial.”

Bradford had seen leading props Nick Scruton and Carvell depart earlier this season while another front-row – Manase Manuokafoa – announced on Wednesday he has taken up a two-year deal with Widnes.

Fleming played in the World Cup last year and Castleford coach Daryl Powell said: “Dan’s been a pleasure to work with.

“I’m confident he’ll continue to mature into a quality prop in the future. His opportunities would have been limited next season and playing in the Championship, while remaining full-time is perfect for him.”
