The England Knights scrum-half confirmed on Thursday he will join Daryl Powell’s side on a two-year contract next season.

And, ironically, Gale heads to his next home of Wheldon Road tomorrow as revived Bradford seek to gain a fourth successive win since suffering relegation.

“I can’t wait for Sunday,” he said. “It will be a weird feeling but I’ve always loved playing at The Jungle.

“It’s a hostile environment and the crowd is on your back but I prefer that.

“They get behind the Cas lads, really pack the stadium out and create a fantastic atmosphere.

“I definitely want to show them what I’m capable of and the lads have spoken about us going unbeaten in these last few games.

“We’ve beaten Wigan, Leeds and Hull, so why can’t we beat Cas, Widnes and London in our last three games?”

Gale is well aware of what Castleford are capable of – they are still in the hunt for the League Leaders’ Shield – but believes they may be fragile after suffering a Challenge Cup final defeat to Leeds Rhinos at Wembley just last Saturday.

“They’ll be licking their wounds from that and I think they will be there for the taking,” said the 26-year-old.

“We’ve trained well this week and we want the two points.

“It can go two ways – they can be a bit flat or they can get back on the horse.

“But Jimmy (Lowes) doesn’t focus too much on the opposition because we know that if we get our game right then we’ll have a very good chance of winning.”

Jamal Fakir, Nathan Conroy – the youngster who has joined fellow teenagers Alex Mellor, Sam Bates and Adam Brook in agreeing new deals at Odsal this week – plus Luke George all return, with injured duo Matt Diskin and Elliot Kear dropping out along with Jamie Foster.
