Headingley success for Wigan in Floodlit league competition

Wigan clinched their second trophy in four days after winning last night's Carnegie Floodlit 9s at Headingley at the first attempt.

Centre Ian Thornley, who is switching codes at the end of the season to join Sale Sharks, was the match-winner in a 20-16 victory over a full-strength Bradford in the final.

Full-back Vinny Finigan had given the Bulls an early lead but winger Ryan King equalised for the Super League leaders and Thornley went over for two quickfire tries to put his side into a 16-6 interval lead.
