Dyer, 27, joined Rhinos from Warrington Wolves ahead of the 2017 season on a 24-month deal and extended that by a year in June, 2019.

News of his new terms was expected after his name did not appear on the list of Rhinos’ out of contract players revealed in the Yorkshire Evening Post two weeks ago.

Dwyer began the season in impressive style and his contract renewal gives Rhinos a boost ahead of the return of their Betfred Super League return against Huddersfield Giants at Emerald Headingley on Sunday.

Dwyer said: “I have talked about how much of an honour and privilege it has been to play for Leeds Rhinos, pull on that famous shirt and call Emerald Headingley my home.

“I have the utmost respect for [chief executive] Gary Hetherington, [director of rugby] Kevin Sinfield and [coach] Richard Agar and for how the club has handled the last few months.

“I can’t wait to get back out there on Sunday when we take on Huddersfield Giants and I am delighted to have agreed my new deal.”

Agar said: “I think Brad deserves a lot of credit for how he has taken on board what we, as a coaching team, have asked from him.

“He would be the first to admit he is still working on those areas, but I think it was evident from how he started the season that he is reaping the rewards now.

“I think over the next two years that we will see even better things from Brad.”

Dwyer has scored 15 tries in 56 games for Rhinos, including two touchdowns from five appearances this year.
