Hull are hurting but keen to bounce back

Hull FC coach Richard Agar believes his side will bounce back despite seeing them suffer a 48-24 defeat at Wigan Warriors.

Darrell Goulding and stand-off Sam Tomkins each scored two tries and winger Pat Richards continued his prolific start to the season with 20 points.

The Warriors led 48-12 when full-back Cameron Phelps scored their eighth try with 10 minutes to go but some of the gloss was taken from their victory when they allowed Hull to score late consolation tries through Richard Horne and Sean Long.

"I thought Wigan played strongly but we heaped a bit of pressure on ourselves with some errors in our own half and poor kick-finishes and a whole host of penalties," said Agar.

"They certainly made the most of their territorial advantage. We needed a decent share of possession and field position in the start of the second half we couldn't get out of our own half.

"We know we've been well beaten but we know exactly where we've gone wrong. The guys are hurting from this defeat but we know we can bounce back.

"The pleasing thing is when we did have possession we showed we could score points. I thought Richard Horne had a terrific game."
