The former Bradford Bulls player was in the final season of his previous deal having joined from Sydney Roosters before the start of the last campaign.

Although yet to establish himself as a regular, Naughton has scored 10 tries in 14 appearances for Hull including one in Friday’s 22-4 win over Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, his first appearance of the season.

The 21-year-old hopes to retain his place for the Good Friday derby at Hull KR and head coach Lee Radford said: “I’m really pleased; I think he has a great long-term future at the club.

“There was interest in him from elsewhere but the fact he wanted to stay is a credit to the group and a credit to Hull FC.

“We want to find him a starting spot and fulfil his potential. He has a good strike rate and can cover the outside backs, either at full-back or on the wing.

“He’s still very young and he has a lot of progression left in his game.”

Naughton added: “I had a good end to last season and was coming to the end of my contract so I’m really happy to be staying at the club.

“I love been here so when Lee and (director of rugby) Motu (Tony) said they wanted me to stay for at least the next few years I was delighted.

“My main focus now is cementing a place in the side and playing first-grade regularly.”
