The 20-year-old will link up with former Huddersfield scrum-half Jamie Ellis under new Rovers coach Tim Sheens, helping fill the void created by the departure of Terry Campese and Albert Kelly in the wake of the club's relegation from Super League.

Abdull has made 19 senior appearances since rising up through the youth ranks at Challenge Cup winners Hull.

Hull FC coach Lee Radford said: "I think it's a great opportunity for Jordan to go out and get a team around the field on a weekly basis.

"With the competition for places we have at the moment, the assurance of him being able to do that with us isn't there.

"The opportunity to go out there with Hull KR, make some mistakes on the field, learn how to deal with those and correct them week-in week-out will be invaluable for his long-term development.

"Jordan is still only 20 and I think he'll come back a more mature, rounded player."
