Julia shows how to put on a smile for National Dairy Week

Julia Bradbury, presenter of Countryfile and Wainwright's Walks – and host of next week's Yorkshire Post Environment Awards – kept her characteristic boots on while posing as The Dairy Fairy.

The pictures were for National Dairy Week, this week – a promotional effort by the Dairy Council which included an appeal for pictures of people enjoying dairy products.

Speaking at the World Dairy Forum in London, Jim Begg, director general of the processor-led body Dairy UK, said the UK industry was worth 8bn a year and employed 80,000 people directly – and had come through hard times better prepared for the future than its competitors in Europe.

DairyCo has published an analysis of the strategies of the seven largest milk buyers in Britain, to help farmers in their decision-making.

The National Farmers' Union recommends using it "to discuss and question in a constructive way".
