Keighley Cougars 16 Toulouse Olympique 10: Cougars stun Toulouse with great success

Keighley stunned in-form Toulouse to secure a spot in the Challenge Cup fourth round.

Jason Demetriou’s resilient Cougars defended like Trojans to hand the Frenchmen only their second defeat of the season, edging a tight contest 16-10.

Having beaten Keighley in the Northern Rail Cup just two weeks previously, Toulouse looked well-placed to repeat the feat when Gregory White scored after six minutes. But the hosts dominated and levelled when Tom Burton touched down Demetriou’s neat grubber.

Danny Lawton kicked a penalty and followed it up with a try.

Toulouse pulled level once more with a try from Lewis, who also converted, but Lawton slotted another penalty and Chris Baines scored ten minutes from time.
